På 19 ben

I enden av hyttefeltet på Primhovda, på grensen mellom det bebygde og den åpne naturen, setter hytten ned sine 19 ben og forankrer sine røtter skånsomt i landskapet. Hyttens silhuett med dens takvinkel skaper en myk overgang fra bebyggelse til natur, og imiterer både dens hyttenaboer i nord og tretoppene i sør.

Hyttens hovedkropp er knekt for å få plass i tomtas armkrok, der den kryper ned og vender øynene mot sør. Fra naboene i nord er det kun hyttens inngangsparti som kan sees i sin fulle høyde der den strekker seg ut og griper tak i tomtens øvre del, likt Hallingdals mange låvebroer. Inne er hytten inspirert av det terrenget den står over. Rommene trapper seg ned med den bratte tomten, og skaper en sekvens av plasser som relaterer seg til hverandre og til naturen rundt omkring. De ulike nivåene gjør at en kan være sammen hver for seg, sittende på sin favoritt-leseplass, samtidig som noen spiller spill ved langbordet og andre forbereder maten på kjøkkenet. Et rom med mange romsligheter.

At the end of the Primhovda cabin area, on the border between the built and the mountain forests the cabin stretches its 19 legs, gently anchoring its roots into the landscape. The cabin's silhouette with its prominent roof angle, creates a transition from settlement to nature, and imitates both the neighboring cabins in the north and the treetops in the south.

Tracing a natural curve in the topography, the cabin gently folds and follows a downhill slope, before it turns its eyes towards the south. From the neighbors in the north only the entrance to the cabin can be seen at its full height, where it extends and embraces the upper part of the plot, like Hallingdal's many traditional barn bridges. Inside, the cabin takes inspiration from the terrain it faces. The rooms are stacked like a staircase, following the steep plot, creating a sequence of spaces that relate to each other and to the surrounding nature. The different levels allows the cabins inhabitants both personal space and a sense of togetherness: People can sit in their favourite reading space, while others are playing games at the long table or preparing food in the kitchen. One room with many spaces within.
